I provide a supportive, non-judgemental space where acceptance, respect and trust enable you to develop a greater understanding of your own thoughts and emotions. My style of working allows therapy to be unique to you, focused on your life experiences, with the aim of helping you to live life to the full.
There is no set pattern for counselling and my integrative style affords me the flexibility to choose techniques which are most appropriate for working with you. Often, people don’t know why they would like counselling now, but they recognise they feel stuck and would like some support. I work both on an open-ended basis or for an agreed period of time at a pace that suits you.
My Values
I believe everyone has the right to be truly heard, understood and valued without criticism. I offer both time and a safe space for this to take place.
Witnessing the difference counselling can make to peoples’ lives makes me proud to be involved in, and passionate about, my profession.
My Approach - Counselling
My role as a therapist is not to analyse or give advice, but to be alongside you, supporting you to explore your own issues, with the belief that you will come to find your own resolutions and the ability to psychologically self-heal. I offer a free initial consultation that last 30-50 minutes. This allows you to meet me and ask any questions you may have before deciding whether or not you wish to arrange further appointments.
My Approach - Supervision
For me, supervision is a joint venture inspiring the desire to attend to the needs of the client and the context in which they are presented. I therefore encourage supervisees to use supervision to stand back from their work, reflect, and engage with the understanding that problematic situations often lead to the discovery of new meanings.
